Voluntary Assisted Dying Medical Lead Position

We are seeking a medical professional to lead our Voluntary Assisted Dying Service team in Western Sydney.

The successful applicant will be responsible for leading the team, training clinical colleagues on Voluntary Assisted Dying, and providing authorised practitioner services as outlined in the legislation.

Key responsibilities include implementing clinical guidelines, pharmacy protocols, and related documents; presenting at regular forums; engaging with clinical colleagues about Voluntary Assisted Dying; and leading practice development and improvement strategies within the service.

Applicants must have Australian Fellowship/Specialist Registration and complete approved mandatory training to be recognised as an authorised Voluntary Assisted Dying practitioner in NSW.

The position requires a sound clinical knowledge in end-of-life care, consistently demonstrating behaviours that reinforce the CORE Values of our organisation, and a good understanding of the NSW Voluntary Assisted Dying Act 2022.

They must also demonstrate a willingness to travel within the district to provide Voluntary Assisted Dying services to people requesting them.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Australian Fellowship/Specialist Registration.
