This role offers a unique chance to work with frontline agencies on communication platforms and electronic devices.

The position involves deploying to various locations across the Northern Territory in emergency situations to provide critical equipment and resolve issues as part of whole-of-government disaster response and recovery functions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Providing technical communications and electronic systems support to ensure systems and devices are operational at all times.
  • Installing, maintaining and upgrading new and existing communications and electronic equipment.
  • Developing and managing equipment maintenance schedules, conducting routine maintenance, calibration and ad-hoc repairs.
  • Troubleshooting and providing training to end-users.
  • Assessing the suitability of new electronic equipment and systems against agency needs and legislated responsibilities.

The ideal candidate will have a detailed understanding of the full range of systems and devices in use. They will be enthusiastic about the repair, maintenance and service of communications and electronic equipment and systems.

Applicants should hold qualifications such as an Associate Diploma in Electronics and Communications, and/or a Trade Certificate in Electronics or Radio Fitter, Certificate IV in Electro Technology or equivalent.

In addition to a competitive salary, this role offers a number of benefits including NT allowance, 6 weeks annual leave (pro rata), on-call allowance and overtime payment after an appropriate training period.
