The role of a STEM Literacy Intervention Teacher is to contribute significantly to the improvement of student performance and educational outcomes. This individual will play a pivotal part in assisting the school to achieve its strategic plan and state-wide priorities.
As a STEM Literacy Intervention Teacher, you will be responsible for planning, preparing, and delivering programs that cater to specific student needs. You will engage in critical reflection and inquiry to enhance your knowledge and skills, ensuring effective engagement with students and improved learning outcomes.
You will have opportunities to model exemplary classroom practice, mentor, and coach other teachers to promote critical reflection and support staff capacity expansion. Additionally, you will provide expert advice on content, processes, and strategies to inform professional learning at both an individual and school level.
Key responsibilities include:
- Possessing the requisite content knowledge and pedagogical practice to address diverse student needs;
- Establishing a culture of excellence in teaching practices and providing guidance to colleagues;
- Offering expert advice on instructional strategies and content development;
- Supervising and training one or more student teachers;
- Collaborating with staff to utilize student data to inform teaching approaches, ultimately achieving targets related to improving student learning outcomes.
