About the Role

The Department of Treasury and Finance seeks a seasoned procurement professional to lead category management activities, drive effective sourcing projects, and develop strategic relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end category management processes to achieve optimal procurement outcomes
  • Lead government-wide sourcing initiatives, including requirements gathering, business case development, tender preparation, evaluation, and supplier negotiation
  • BUILD AND MAINTAIN STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIPS WITH KEY STAKEHOLDERS TO DELIVER EFFECTIVE PROCUREMENT OUTCOMES
  • Identify opportunities for innovative procurement practices, enabling the department to deliver excellent outcomes and enhance process improvements
  • Liaise with senior management, departmental colleagues, Chief Procurement Officers, and other key staff from government departments and suppliers

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must possess:

  • Proven expertise in undertaking complex sourcing events, leading negotiations, and driving effective outcomes
  • Strong communication skills, with ability to engage diverse stakeholders and build collaborative relationships
  • Demonstrated knowledge of procurement systems, tools, and data analytics to support decision-making and risk management
  • Analytical and conceptual skills to resolve complex problems and deliver innovative solutions

Qualifications and Experience

Tertiary qualification in a related field and/or significant experience in a similar role would be highly regarded.

Knowledge of Victorian Government procurement policies is also desirable.
