Job Overview

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and maintain water and wastewater treatment plants in accordance with Australian Drinking Water Guidelines (ADWG) and Environmental Licences
  • Monitor and maintain laboratory equipment, disinfection equipment, and other plant systems
  • Perform mathematical operations and calculations to indicate plant performance
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues and stakeholders to obtain and share technical information
  • Install, operate, and maintain water and sewerage infrastructure and network assets within the Council area
  • Conduct water and sewer quality testing and maintenance of water supply systems and sewer drainage systems
  • Assist with asset installations and perform work as required on relevant asset installations for the Water and Wastewater department
  • Ensure compliance with Work Health and Safety policies and procedures
Requirements
  • Certificate of Part 1 - Wastewater Treatment Operations and Part 2 - Advanced Treatment for wastewater treatment
  • Certificate of Part 1 - Chemical Dosing Systems and Part 2 - Water Treatment Operations
  • Fluoride Dosing Certification
  • Basic Asbestos Handling Training
  • Construction Induction White Card
  • Relevant experience in water and wastewater operations and maintenance
