Job Title: Water and Wastewater Service Delivery Expert

The Snowy Monaro Regional Council is seeking a skilled and experienced Network Operator to join our team in Jindabyne.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality water and wastewater services to the community
  • Conduct installation, maintenance, and monitoring works on water and wastewater network systems
  • Document and review data, reporting anomalies as required
  • Collaborate with teams through information sharing and provide support for maintenance and operations of treatment plants
  • Establish and maintain customer relationships through effective communication
  • Be available for weekend and on-call rosters and respond to emergency call-outs when required
  • Monitor work performance and report progress to team leaders
  • Use resources efficiently and effectively to complete tasks
  • Contribute to a safe workplace by complying with organisational requirements

Requirements:

  • Contemporary experience in a similar role
  • Ability to operate small plant and hand tools competently, including lawnmowers, whipper snippers, sludge pumps, powered cut-off saws, grinders, drill, and water snorter
  • Construction Induction White Card
  • Willingness to undertake confined spaces training courses, including refresher courses
  • Physical fitness to complete all aspects of the position
  • Experience in Treatment Plant Operations or willingness to undertake training for both water and wastewater operations
  • Ability to work weekend and on-call rosters and be available to respond to emergency call-outs when required
  • Literacy and computer skills to complete paper and electronic forms and record data
  • Ability to develop and maintain internal and external stakeholder relationships to achieve outcomes
  • Current Class C drivers license

Desirable Criteria:

  • Knowledge of Radio Telemetry
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience in pipeline construction for laying water and wastewater mains or ability to learn
  • Traffic Controller Certificate
  • Implement Traffic Control Plans Certificate
  • Certificate of Competence in Excavator Operation
  • Certification in Water Treatment (Cert III) or Certificate in Water Industry Operations
  • Drivers Licence MR (Medium Rigid)
