The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Payroll Supervisor to join our team at Busways in a supporting role. Our payroll team excels in providing efficient and accurate payroll services to our staff, who are distributed across multiple locations within NSW and SA.

This role is based at our National Support Office in Pymble and reports directly to the Payroll Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the team in running all aspects of weekly and fortnightly payroll for all employees.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure timely and accurate payment of all payruns for employees on a weekly and fortnightly basis
  • Oversee and manage the end-to-end payroll process, maintaining system integrity and identifying opportunities for improvement
  • Review and approve payroll files to ensure accuracy and adherence to relevant regulations and employment agreements
  • Lead a team of payroll officers, including training new staff members, assigning tasks, managing workloads, and ensuring deadlines and performance targets are met
  • Provide guidance on industry Enterprise Agreements, awards, and NES
  • Develop and maintain payroll policies and procedures aligned with industry best practices, regulatory requirements, and organisational objectives

About You

  • Minimum 6+ years' experience in payroll management
  • 2+ years' experience in managing teams to achieve outcomes
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills, ability to deliver high-quality results under pressure
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Proficient computer skills, particularly MS Office and intermediate to advanced Excel skills
  • Strong attention to detail, organisational, and time-management skills
  • Ability to use initiative and maintain confidentiality when dealing with complex matters
  • Australian citizenship, permanent residency, or working rights in Australia
  • Current Australian driver's license

Salary Estimate: $90,000 - $110,000 per annum
