IT Support Specialist

The IT Support Specialist is responsible for the support and maintenance of all ICT desktop hardware and Level 2 escalations.

This role will work closely with service desk support teams to provide onsite support across all client sites and users.

Duties
  • Ensure that all Tier 1/2 related incidents and changes are tracked and handled in the shortest possible time frame for resolution, and that solution steps are properly documented in the related incident/change to develop a long-term knowledge base.
  • Elevate critical problems to relevant vendor and support these teams in further problem investigation efforts.
  • Conduct onsite analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of complex computer problems for end users, and recommend and implement corrective solutions, including offsite repair or replacement for remote users as needed.
  • Deploy, configure, test, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot end-user workstations, network, printing, video conferencing, phone, and related hardware and software in order to deliver required deskside service levels.
  • Collaborate with line-of-business and internal technology teams to define, develop, and document system-related business requirements, objectives, deliverables, and specifications on a project-by-project basis.
  • Perform IT asset management by gathering a detailed inventory of our clients' hardware, software, and network assets to enable management to make informed business decisions about IT-related purchases and redistribution.
  • Prioritize and guide team in fulfilling service requests involving the provision, configuration, and deprovisioning user computing devices per service requests and in accordance with SLAs, and other activities.
  • Identify recurring technical issues, proposing solutions to address the cause of those problems.

 

Selection Criteria
  • Highly desirable is previous Deskside Support or Field Service support in large corporate environments or MSP.
  • Working with multiple teams across the company and vendors until the issue is resolved.
  • Ability to work independently exercising initiative and judgment to carry out daily tasks.
  • Analytical thinking and the ability to understand complex problems quickly.
  • Ability to effectively communicate issues and resolutions to all levels of the organization.
  • A positive attitude toward people with disabilities and the willingness to work within Multicap's Values & Code of Conduct in order to meet our customers' needs.
  • Mandatory: Relevant industry or tertiary qualifications.
  • Travel between our clients' Sites may be required.
