The Kimberley Fire Program seeks an experienced Fire Management Specialist to assist the Regional Fire Manager with strategic planning, operational management and collaboration with stakeholders.

  • This role involves working closely with operational staff at other Kimberley locations, Indigenous rangers and Traditional Owners, and collaborating with regional partners to achieve fire management objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the development of fire management plans and operations programs;">
  • Collaborate with regional partners to achieve fire management objectives;">
  • Supervise AWC staff, Indigenous rangers and Traditional Owners as required;">
  • Work closely with operational staff at other Kimberley locations to ensure effective communication and coordination;">

Requirements

">
  • Degree in a relevant field such as conservation, land management or fire science;">
  • Proven experience in fire management, landcare and/or natural resource management;">
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;">
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team;">
  • Experience working with GIS software and data analysis;">
  • Current Australian driver's license (4WD);">
">

Working Conditions
