
Child Protection Specialist

The Department of Human Services has a critical need for a Child and Family Support System Supervisor to lead a team of practitioners in delivering high-quality services and interventions to vulnerable and at-risk children and families.
This role requires strong leadership, strategic thinking, and the ability to work collaboratively across government and non-government sectors. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a team of practitioners, providing consultation on complex cases, and identifying areas where family support is required.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of child safety and wellbeing matters, as well as experience working with culturally and linguistically diverse clients. They will also possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate others to work collaboratively in a timely manner.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and lead a team of practitioners in delivering high-quality services and interventions
- Provide consultation on complex cases and identify areas where family support is required
- Develop and implement joint solutions with key agencies to address child safety and wellbeing matters
- Oversee the provision of services that enhance outcomes for clients of the agency and improve outcomes for Aboriginal people
- Integrate contemporary information and research evidence with practice experience to support decision making and innovative thinking
- Contribute to maintaining a safe and healthy work environment by identifying and reporting incidents, hazards, and injuries
