
Child Protection Specialist

The Practice Lead is a key role within our organization, responsible for providing practice leadership across various teams. This involves sharing expert knowledge to drive practice excellence and improve outcomes for infants, children, young people, and their families.
The Practice Lead will work closely with Regional Managers and Supervisors to monitor practice quality, identify practice issues, and develop and implement quality improvement strategies. Additionally, they will provide clinical consultation on cases, and clinical direction and escalation to leadership on sensitive and/or high-risk matters.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing practice leadership and driving practice excellence through consultation, mentoring, educating, and modeling best-practice standards.
- Identifying skill and knowledge gaps in staff and leading strategic projects to build practice capability within regions and across the organization.
- Providing a high level of clinical knowledge, expertise, and advice related to working with children and families with child protection concerns in the development of policy and programs.
- Leading service improvement, including the development, implementation, monitoring, and review of professional practice standards and service models.
- Participating as part of a collaborative and collegiate team of Practice Leaders who work together to drive practice excellence across the organization.
An appropriate degree or equivalent, which gives eligibility for full membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers, is essential. The candidate must also possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

OthersSome out-of-hours work may be required, as well as some interstate and intrastate travel. A current Australian-issued driver's license (equivalent to minimum class C) is also necessary. National Police Check and Employment-related Screening Check are mandatory requirements for this role.
