Electrical Design Expertise

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Design Expert to interpret client specifications and produce accurate electrical layouts, ensuring compliance, safety, and technical expertise.

  • Design Deliverables: Develop comprehensive switchboard drawings using AutoCAD Electrical and SolidWorks, incorporating design standards and best practices.
  • Component Selection: Specify breakers, contactors, relays, metering, enclosures, and other critical components to suit each project's needs.
  • Standards Compliance: Ensure every design aligns with AS/NZS 61439, AS/NZS 3000, and relevant client standards.
  • Project Coordination: Work closely with project managers, production teams, and procurement to keep technical deliverables on track.
  • Quality Assurance: Support FAT/SAT testing, risk assessments, and design reviews—incorporating feedback to refine outputs.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline design workflows, update standard assemblies, and expand the in-house knowledge base.

Requirements

  • Qualifications: Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent) with 3–5 years in LV panel or switchboard design.
  • Software Proficiency: Proficient in AutoCAD Electrical (or similar) and SolidWorks for both 2D and 3D design.
  • Compliance Specialist: Strong working knowledge of Australian electrical regulations and manufacturing compliance.
  • Effective Communicator: Able to liaise effectively with cross-functional teams and present confidently to clients.
  • Attention to Detail & Organized: Excellent documentation habits, able to juggle multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
  • Adaptable Team Player: Comfortable working in a dynamic, customer-driven manufacturing environment.
