Job Title: Electrical Design Specialist

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Electrical Engineer to lead our team in designing electrical systems.

About the Role

This is a challenging opportunity for a talented individual to develop project deliverables, prepare key electrical documentation, and contribute to detailed scope of work and project execution plans.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting other engineering disciplines to ensure consistency and integrity of design throughout the project.

The role involves analyzing designs, determining engineering design criteria, and reviewing work to ensure accuracy and completeness.

You will also be responsible for preparing material takeoffs, estimating task hours, and providing input into project schedules.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Preparation of key electrical documentation including area classifications, drawings, and reports.
  • Designing electrical systems using SKM and ETAP software.
  • Determining detailed engineering design criteria.
  • Analyzing vendor or subcontractor designs.
  • Reviewing work to ensure consistency and integrity of design.
  • Ensuring all discipline deliverables are checked and verified.
  • Development of electrical Material Takeoffs (MTOs).
  • Providing input for DBM, detailed scope of work, and PEP.
  • Preparing engineering task hour estimates and project schedules.
  • Reviewing electrical single line diagrams, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
  • Developing and evaluating electrical equipment and construction specifications.
Requirements
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in low voltage power distribution and control systems design.
  • Familiarity with high and medium voltage would be advantageous.
  • Successful candidate will also be proficient in protective relaying, motor control systems, hazardous area classification assessment and reporting, electrical equipment sizing and PLCs applications.
  • Familiarity with electrical safety regulations and codes compliance requirements.
