About the Role:

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Vice President of Campaigns and Political Strategy to lead our strategic and political work in the Western United States. This executive-level leadership position will play a key role in developing and implementing strategies to advance our ambitious agenda to fight climate change and its impacts in the region.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and implementation of multi-faceted advocacy plans and campaigns to advance our policy objectives in clean energy, healthy rivers, and Western lands.
  • Supervise a team of seven Government Affairs staff members and collaborate with teams across the organization to ensure alignment and achievement of our long-term goals.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with decision makers and political partners to advance our advocacy efforts.
  • Develop and implement strategies to leverage WRA's policy work and expertise to drive change in the Western United States.

Requirements:

  • At least 10 years of experience in nonprofit environmental advocacy or a similar role in the Western region.
  • Demonstrated successful team leadership and personnel management skills.
  • Experience managing multiple staff, consultants, and projects with deadline pressures.
  • Demonstrated track record of advocacy campaign leadership, including strategy development and implementation in a policy-focused context.

What We Offer:

  • A competitive salary range of $160,000-$200,000 annually, depending on relevant experience.
  • A comprehensive benefits package, including a 401(k)-retirement plan with up to 5% matching and health, dental, vision, and life & disability insurance.
  • Seventeen days paid vacation leave, twelve paid sick days, one paid volunteer day, twelve paid holidays, and WRA's Winter Break closure for additional paid time off.
  • Up to twelve weeks of parental leave and up to twelve weeks of paid sabbatical leave after five years of service.
