Job Title: Triage Counsellor

Join the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia as a Triage Counsellor and play a critical role in supporting families in need. As a Triage Counsellor, you will work with children and families to identify and address risk factors, providing confidential risk assessments and safety planning to ensure the best possible outcomes.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join a world-leading court and be part of a number of innovative initiatives designed to ensure safe and effective outcomes for children and families. As a Triage Counsellor, you will work closely with the Court's Children's Service team to provide family counselling and support services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct confidential risk assessments to identify risk factors and develop safety plans for families
  • Work with children and families to identify protective and supportive factors
  • Co-design and develop safety and well-being plans with individuals and families
  • Undertake direct referrals to identified agencies and services
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A recognised degree in a relevant social science area (e.g. social work, psychology, counselling, human services)
  • A minimum of three (3) years relevant clinical experience working with children and families
  • A clearance for working with children as required within the relevant State/Territory scheme
