Job Title: Engineering and Facilities Manager

About the Role

The Engineering and Facilities Manager will be responsible for managing and maintaining a large manufacturing facility. This role will work closely with internal stakeholders to coordinate and execute all external maintenance activities and manage the internal preventative maintenance system. The role will also coordinate the daily activities of internal maintenance staff and have a dependency on Industrial Engineering, including cycle time calculations, plant layout design, and in-process developments to ensure the manufacturing facility is operating to its maximum potential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordination and onsite management for facilities-related external contractors, including contacting relevant contractors, gaining quotations, and management of invoices.
  • Completing and maintaining induction records for external contractors and ensuring all contractors on site have completed and submitted relevant risk assessments and/or safe work documents.
  • Liaising with the building owner to facilitate inspections, building upgrades, and/or any other maintenance works required.
  • Ensuring team members meet deadlines and supporting their development, training, and motivation.
  • Providing clear direction, guidance, and support to team members.
  • Designing, drawing, and coordinating the manufacturing of small jigs and fixtures required for use by the facility with both internal and external suppliers.
  • Ownership of the preventative maintenance schedule to ensure minimal production downtime, including occasional outside of normal business hours support.
  • Maintaining and developing new plant layout, assembly line, and other facility-related drawings (AutoCAD).
  • Reviewing new product and part drawings to assess suitability inside the production environment.
  • Facilitating NPI-related activities into the manufacturing facility.
  • Maintaining and updating site-related drawings, including traffic management, evacuation diagrams, and other engineering-related documents.
  • Maintaining appropriate communications as the single point of contact for external contractors into the manufacturing facility.
Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience working in a facilities-based role inside a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in CAD (AutoCAD preferred).
  • Experience with management and control tools, such as Jira and TFS.
  • Ability to work in a team and/or individually.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Degree-qualified engineer or other applicable degree.
  • Previous facilities management experience.
  • Prior manufacturing facility experience highly desirable.
  • Computer skills, including proficiency in Excel, Word, and other MS Office applications. Knowledge of software IDE is desirable.
