Regional Trauma Service Opportunity



This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned Emergency Medicine Consultant to join one of Victoria's largest regional health services. You will be working in a high-acuity Emergency Department, leading a dedicated multidisciplinary team and contributing to the ongoing development of a regional trauma service.

  • As a key member of our emergency department team, you will provide high-quality specialist emergency medical care to patients in a busy regional setting.
  • You will deliver clinical leadership during shifts to ensure optimal patient outcomes and supervise and mentor Registrars, Junior Medical Officers, and medical students.
  • Collaboration with other specialists and support for out-of-hours coverage are also essential aspects of this role.
  • In addition to these responsibilities, you will contribute to strategic planning, service development, and quality improvement initiatives at GV Health.

Emergency Department Facilities

The 36-bed Emergency Department features designated regional trauma service areas with diverse and high-acuity case mixes, as well as state-of-the-art resuscitation bays, negative pressure isolation cubicles, acute care cubicles, and dedicated Fast Track areas.

  • Other notable facilities include the Short Stay Unit, Behavioural Assessment Room, mental health consult rooms, and forensic suite.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you must possess Fellowship of the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine, current Specialist Registration with AHPRA, demonstrated leadership and teaching experience, commitment to delivering best practice patient-centred emergency care, and a passion for working in a progressive regional trauma service environment.
