The Regional Development and Economic Growth Specialist plays a pivotal role in fostering economic prosperity across regional communities.

About the Role

Reporting to the Manager of Regional Development, this position is responsible for developing and implementing initiatives that drive growth and development in regional areas.

  • This involves utilising expertise in local region and community context to lead integrated investment in place by understanding, influencing, and negotiating with key stakeholders and partners.
  • The successful candidate will also lead investment attraction, economic development, and delivery of industry and recovery initiatives across the region.
Key Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

  • Utilising specialist expertise in industry and economic drivers, knowledge of government policies and programs, and an understanding of current and emerging trends related to rural and regional communities and industry.
  • Project management skills, including consulting, liaising with, and influencing key stakeholders, and producing detailed project plans.
  • Stakeholder management skills, including identifying common issues and building mutually beneficial partnerships.
