Job Description

We are seeking individuals with little to no experience who possess a technical understanding of electrical or mechanical systems and have a passion for learning data center operations.

The Data Center Engineering Operations Trainee will be responsible for handling Data Center Engineering Operations, including risk management, preventive and corrective maintenance of critical infrastructure, vendor management, and metric reporting within an Amazon data center.

Collaborating with a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other key roles, you will help uphold the highest safety and security standards while delivering extensive capacity at minimal cost to our customers.

  • Assist in managing contractors, subcontractors, and vendors on-site, ensuring compliance with practices, procedures, and legislation.
  • Maintain performance benchmarks, analyze data, and prepare reports on infrastructure operations and maintenance.
  • Create Change Management requests and Incident Management tickets as directed.
  • Contribute to documentation related to business and facility operations.
  • Support rack installation and power/cooling provisioning within operational constraints.
  • Participate in routine maintenance and emergency services for systems such as switchgear, generators, UPS, power distribution, chillers, cooling towers, and monitoring systems.
  • Assist in the design, implementation, commissioning, and expansion of new facilities.
  • Help manage facility assets and inventory management as directed.
  • Participate in construction and operational meetings as needed.
  • Support Work Order compliance and review contractual SLAs.
  • Coordinate with Infrastructure Operations teams for daily operational needs.
  • Assist in resolving infrastructure engineering or service issues.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service and satisfaction.
  • Meet daily operational hours, shift, and on-call response requirements.
