Job Description

AWS Infrastructure Services owns and operates all global infrastructure, including data centers, servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment. The goal is to ensure uninterrupted access to innovation for customers.

The team supports the rapidly growing AWS business and customers 24/7, maintaining physical infrastructure while adhering to standards for safety, security, availability, productivity, capacity, efficiency, and cost.

Data Center Engineering Operations
  • Risk management and mitigation
  • Corrective and preventative maintenance of critical infrastructure
  • Vendor management and metric reporting

This position involves sustaining availability, managing costs, assessing risks, reviewing maintenance activities, and reporting metrics. Collaboration with software, hardware, network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and others is required to deliver high safety and security standards while providing extensive capacity at minimal cost within an inclusive culture that fosters innovative ideas.

This is a fixed-term position with potential for full-time conversion.

Key Job Responsibilities:
  1. Assist in managing contractors, sub-contractors, and vendors to ensure compliance with procedures and legislation.
  2. Maintain performance benchmarks, analyze data, and prepare reports on infrastructure operations and maintenance.
  3. Generate Change Management requests and Incident Management tickets as directed.
  4. Contribute to documentation related to business and facility operations.
  5. Support rack installation and power/cooling provisioning within constraints.
  6. Participate in routine maintenance and emergency services on critical systems such as switchgear, generators, UPS, power distribution, chillers, cooling towers, air handlers, and monitoring systems.
  7. Learn about the design, implementation, commissioning, and build-out of new facilities.
  8. Assist with facility asset management and inventory control.
  9. Participate in construction and operational meetings as needed.
  10. Support Work Order compliance and review contractual SLAs.
  11. Interface with Infra Ops teams for daily operational needs.
  12. Assist in resolving infrastructure engineering or service issues.
  13. Deliver exceptional customer service.
  14. Meet operational hours, shift, and on-call requirements during rotations.
Requirements:

We are looking for individuals with a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a relevant discipline, or relevant technical experience. Experience in Data Center Engineering/Operations is also preferred.
