We are seeking an experienced Academic Support Professional to provide confidential short-term counselling services to students, addressing barriers to successful participation and progress in educational activities.
This role involves working closely with educational staff to address student conduct/behaviour, providing consultative services to ensure a supportive learning environment.
The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing and providing advice to management on possible responses and referrals to critical incidents.
You will also provide study guidance to existing and prospective students promoting academic courses and pathways.
In addition, you will support teaching/administrative staff in behavioural management of students, including skill development programs for small groups.
You will assist students with special needs, such as disabilities, migrant students, overseas students, and students from diverse backgrounds.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in the delivery of student support services, effectively identifying risks and researching credible actions and solutions.
Demonstrated ability to meet business objectives and maintain current knowledge of student support practices, systems, and processes within Behavioural Science is essential.
Proven experience in building and sustaining productive internal and external key stakeholder relationships and working collaboratively to foster a positive work environment is required.
The successful candidate will possess high level of communication and client service skills to work collaboratively with stakeholders and colleagues to achieve outstanding client service.
About This Opportunity- Assess student requirements and develop tailored support plans to enhance student success.
- Collaborate with relevant government agencies and community organisations to support student access and outcomes.
- Liaise with regional staff, including teaching staff, to support students from diverse backgrounds.
- Participate in Orientation and Open Days, Expositions, and other external activities promoting academic courses and pathways.
- Maintain up-to-date records of service provisions and provide accurate monthly reports.
