Community Engagement Specialist

The Community Engagement Specialist plays a vital role in promoting and enhancing understanding of the services offered at our centre. This includes coordinating community awareness activities, representing the centre at community forums and events, and developing local partnerships to ensure we are an integral part of the mental health and wellbeing sector.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Promote and enhance understanding of the services offered at our centre
  • Coordinate community awareness activities to engage with diverse communities
  • Represent the centre at community forums and events
  • Develop local partnerships to ensure integration into the mental health and wellbeing sector
Requirements:
  • Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline or extensive experience in community development, health promotion, public health, social sciences, or education
  • Ability to engage and communicate with groups of people including public speaking
  • Understanding of the health and wellbeing needs of consumers with mental health and/or substance use problems
  • Understanding of the needs of diverse communities including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) and gay lesbian bisexual transgender and intersex (LGBTI) communities
