Geotechnical Professional Opportunity

This role offers variety and opportunity to the right individual. It is an exciting chance for a geotechnical professional to join our organisation in a high performing truck & shovel operation.

  • Monitoring, measuring and reporting geotechnical hazards is a key responsibility of this position.
  • High wall mapping, analysis of dumps, pit wall stability and rock fall exposure are critical tasks that require a thorough understanding of geotechnical principles.
  • The installation and monitoring of geotechnical devices such as IDS radar, Prisms and Piezometers are essential to ensuring the safety and efficiency of our operations.
  • Closely working with site technical services, operations teams and geotechnical consultants is crucial to achieving our goals.
  • Providing design and execution recommendations based on sound geotechnical principles is a key aspect of this role.
  • Reviewing mine designs to ensure compliance with recommendations as well as updating site plans and procedures is a vital function of this position.
Requirements for the Role
  • A tertiary qualification in Geotech Engineering is essential for this role.
  • At least three years of experience in Open Cut Coal Mining is required.
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills are necessary for success in this position.
  • The ability to liaise with key internal and external stakeholders is a critical skill for this role.
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement, logical thinking, problem-solving, and the ability to work independently while maintaining a team focus are highly valued traits in this position.
  • A QLD Drivers Licence is also required.

This role requires a safety conscious candidate who can demonstrate experience in implementing best practice using a hands-on approach.
