Job Title: Aboriginal Community Engagement Lead

This is a senior leadership role that requires the coordination of various initiatives and programs within the Youth Justice department, specifically focused on Aboriginal communities.

The successful candidate will lead a multidisciplinary team to deliver services and programs aimed at reducing youth reoffending and supporting positive outcomes for young people. Key responsibilities include:

  • Program Development: Developing and managing project plans, resources, and budgets;
  • Community Engagement: Maintaining relationships with the Aboriginal community and key stakeholders;
  • Documentation and Communication: Preparing and presenting project documentation;
  • Stakeholder Management: Providing advice and communication to stakeholders regarding project progress;

A strong understanding of Aboriginal community engagement principles and practices is essential, as well as experience in co-design, needs assessments, and incorporating community feedback into program development. Excellent communication, empathy, and cultural competence are also required to engage with community members and build trusting relationships.

This role requires confirmation of Aboriginality through either a Confirmation of Aboriginality form or written confirmation from 2-3 Aboriginal organisations.
