Position Summary:

Senior Aboriginal Programs Coordinator

This is a leadership role that requires strategic planning, program implementation, and team management to reduce youth reoffending and support positive outcomes for young people.


About the Role:

  • Develop, manage, and implement initiatives aligned with the Youth Justice Strategic Plan and the Aboriginal Strategic Coordination Unit's business plan.
  • Lead a multidisciplinary team delivering services and programs to reduce youth reoffending and support positive outcomes for young people.
  • Build relationships with the Aboriginal community and key stakeholders to deliver projects.
  • Manage project plans, resources, and budgets; monitor progress.

Requirements:

  • A Working with Children Check clearance in accordance with the Child Protection (Working with Children) Act 2012.
  • Aboriginality.
  • Strong understanding of Aboriginal community engagement principles and practices.
  • Experience in co-design, needs assessments, and incorporating community feedback into program development.
  • Excellent communication, empathy, and cultural competence.
