Job Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Vessel Maintenance Specialist to join our team at the Balmain Shipyard.

The successful candidate will work closely with our trade staff to assist in the general maintenance of our vessels, including docking and maintenance, yard clean up, and responding to breakdowns.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is eager to learn and grow with our team.

About the Role

  • Assist in the maintenance and repair of vessels, including mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
  • Clean and maintain the shipyard, ensuring a safe and efficient working environment.
  • Respond to breakdowns and perform repairs as needed.
  • Work collaboratively with other staff and contractors to achieve common goals.
  • Contribute to the development of processes and procedures to improve efficiency and safety.

Requirements

  • Proven experience working in a similar environment, preferably in the marine industry.
  • Qualifications or training in areas such as forklift operation, working at height, confined space entry, and elevator work platform operation.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Willingness to learn and take on new challenges.
