Capital Projects Lead

This is a unique opportunity to combine project management, asset strategy, and collaboration in a role that supports one of the region's most iconic industries.

  • Develop a comprehensive asset management plan based on inspection results and task analysis.
  • Plan, develop, and program long-term asset strategies to optimize resource allocation.
  • Collaborate with senior officers to deliver work programs on time, within scope, and to budget.
  • Coordinate cane railway works teams to deliver maintenance and capital projects efficiently and safely.
  • Review incident and defect data to inform annual maintenance plans.
  • Develop safety management plans, inspection procedures, and test checklists to ensure compliance.
  • Conduct regular asset condition assessments and assign priority ratings to inform maintenance planning.

The ideal candidate has:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Project Management, Business, or a related field.
  • Proven project management expertise in infrastructure projects, with experience in delivering complex programs.
  • Knowledge of railway maintenance and track work principles, with the ability to apply this knowledge in a dynamic environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, with strong skills in Excel, Word, and project planning software.
