Food Safety Specialist

We are seeking a dedicated Food Safety Specialist to champion our Food Safety Program and drive excellence in compliance, assurance, and capability development.

About The Role

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a vital function in our village operations and grow your career in a dynamic environment. As our Food Safety Specialist, you'll play a key role in implementing and continuously improving our Food Safety Management System. You'll work closely with Village Operations to ensure compliance with legislation, standards, and customer expectations—ultimately safeguarding the health and wellbeing of our guests and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement Food Safety Best Practices: Deliver food safety and hygiene training to site teams, support catering and site managers in applying food safety requirements, and promote awareness and escalate food safety issues across all levels.
  • Maintain Compliance: Monitor compliance to meet customer expectations and provide expert advice on food safety matters.
  • Develop Training Materials: Develop and maintain food safety documentation and training materials, conduct internal audits, and support third-party inspections.
  • Lead Assurance Activities: Lead assurance activities and food safety investigations, perform microbiological sampling and testing, and report on system performance and recommend improvements.
Qualifications & Experience
  • A tertiary qualification in Food Science, Microbiology, Environmental Health, or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in hospitality, food safety, or quality assurance.
  • Strong knowledge of microbiology, food safety controls, and legislation.
  • Experience with HACCP / ISO 22000 and internal audits.
