Job Opportunity

The position of Food Service Assistant plays a vital role in providing high-quality catering support services within our residential aged care home.

This role requires the successful candidate to work closely with the clinical and care services team to create a positive dining experience for residents, promoting their health and wellbeing through nutritious meals and refreshments.

  • Setting up each servery and dining area ready for each meal period in line with established standards.
  • Preparation of trolleys for tea breaks and supper.
  • Cleaning and maintenance of dishes and areas where food is prepared and served.
  • Maintenance of cleanliness and organisation of kitchen spaces.
  • Assistance with meal preparation as required.
  • Monitoring and recording requirements of the Food Safety Plan, such as temperatures, cleaning schedules, receipt of goods, etc.

We are looking for an individual with previous experience in providing catering assistance or hospitality in a similar role, along with demonstrated knowledge of Australian Food Standards and Food Safety. Strong communication skills, including the ability to write clearly and accurately and to communicate effectively, are also essential.
