You will report to the Food and Beverage Manager or designate and be accountable for supporting all aspects of hospitality-style dining room service to meet the needs of our residents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support all aspects of hospitality-style dining service utilizing established protocols as it applies to the serving areas, setting, serving, and cleaning tables;
  • Assist with the preparation and presentation of food under the direction of the Chef;
  • Practice and maintain established standards for cleanliness and sanitation throughout all aspects of food preparation and service as required by regulatory bodies;
  • Promote and track a la carte and wine service sales in accordance with prescribed procedures;
  • Comply with all provincial regulations, established food and beverage department policies and procedures, and industry standards to ensure the department is tour-ready;
  • Participate in drills to prepare for emergencies and attend all education sessions in relation to emergency preparedness.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Must have the Smart Serve designation or equivalent certification and one year of experience in dining room service;
  • Ability to work independently and/or as a member of a team;
  • Safe Food Handling Certification preferred;
  • Experience working with seniors and knowledge of the aging process an asset;
  • Proven customer service skills to work with residents of various cultural backgrounds;
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills required.
