Job Description

**Job Title:** Education Support Assistant - Food Studies/Certificate II in Hospitality

**Job Summary:** We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Education Support Assistant to join our team at Clontarf Aboriginal College. The successful candidate will assist in the Food Studies learning area and provide additional support in other classes as required.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Assist in the preparation and delivery of practical lessons in the Food Studies learning area.
  • Set up equipment and materials prior to lessons, ensuring safety standards are met.
  • Provide technical support to students during practical sessions.
  • Maintain equipment and assist with administrative tasks related to the department.
  • Assist in other learning areas as required.

**Requirements:**

  • Proficiency in operating and maintaining equipment used in food studio classrooms.
  • Strong understanding of health and safety regulations related to food preparation and handling.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to interact with teachers, students, and other staff members.
  • Ability to problem solve and troubleshoot technical issues.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage supplies, equipment, and resources efficiently.
  • Ability to use basic computer applications and software used for administrative tasks and record-keeping.

**Desirable Qualifications:**

  • Cert III ACECQA approved qualification or working towards.
  • Accreditation to Work in a Catholic School or the ability to achieve the Accreditation.
  • Senior First Aid, Workplace Level 2, including anaphylaxis and asthma training or willingness to undertake such training.

**Selection Criteria:**

  • The successful candidate must meet the requirements listed above.
  • The candidate must be able to provide a current National Police History Check and a Working with Children Check.
