At the National Library of Australia, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as Senior Facilities and Security Manager. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals who have a passion for facilities management, security, and sustainability.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the library's facilities, sustainability, and security policies and practices. They will ensure that all operations align with legislative and regulatory requirements, as well as contemporary APS and industry standards.

This role requires strong leadership skills, with the ability to drive continuous improvement and lead a team in maintaining effective facilities, sustainability, and protective security frameworks. The successful candidate will also develop and maintain a multi-year routine maintenance and asset replacement program to address and reduce maintenance backlogs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the development and implementation of facilities, sustainability, and security policies and procedures
  • Lead a team in maintaining effective facilities, sustainability, and protective security frameworks
  • Develop and maintain a multi-year routine maintenance and asset replacement program
  • Ensure compliance with legislative and regulatory requirements
  • Build strategic relationships with stakeholders, including working groups and external bodies
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you will require:

  • Qualifications or extensive experience in related fields (facilities management, security, heritage management, trade, and mechanical construction)
  • Sound knowledge of Commonwealth procurement and contract management requirements
  • Experience in developing, implementing, and managing asset replacement, routine facilities, and security programs in owned and/or heritage-listed buildings
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a NV2 Security Clearance
