Heavy Vehicle Body Repair Specialist

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Heavy Vehicle Body Repair Specialist to join our dynamic team at Wales Bus, Smithfield.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated individual who wants to be part of a renowned brand in the heavy vehicle smash repair industry.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in bus body repair and trade qualifications. They will possess excellent communication and decision-making skills, as well as the ability to work effectively as part of a team and autonomously.

The successful applicant will be responsible for assessing vehicles' damage, fabricating, replicating, and repairing heavy vehicle exteriors to meet high-quality standards. They will also advise on additional parts required and coordinate with other team members to ensure efficient workflow.

  • Assess the vehicle's damage to determine how to perform the repair work in accordance with job specifications.
  • Fabricate, replicate and repair the bodies of trailers, trucks and fridges to our quality standards.
  • Weld repaired vehicles to a high standard.
  • Advise the parts interpreter of any additional parts required not originally quoted on the estimate.
  • Coordinate with other team members in the workshop to ensure the workflow is appropriately placed.
  • Notify of any product shortages which would restrict production.
  • Check the schedule daily to ensure time-frames are met.
  • Treat company equipment with the same respect for your own tools.

Key Requirements:

  • Bus body repair experience (essential)
  • Trade qualified (essential)
  • Ability to be a team player, with the skills to also work autonomously.
  • Communication and decision making skills.
  • Mechanical knowledge to assist in the usage and maintenance of tools.
