About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Crime Specialist to join our team at Auswide Bank. As a key member of our Support Services team, you will play a critical role in detecting and investigating financial crimes, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and providing exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Investigate and report suspicious transactions and activities to AUSTRAC, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
  • Conduct thorough customer due diligence, including ongoing and enhanced customer due diligence activities, to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in the detection and investigation of unauthorized transactions and mistaken payments, escalating cases to the Fraud Manager and Head of Financial Crimes as required.
  • Quality check customer onboarding to ensure compliance with Know Your Customer (KYC) obligations.
  • Assist with first-line defense requirements to identify abnormalities in Auswide Bank's policies, procedures, and products.
  • Manage disputed transactions to conclusion in accordance with ePayments code, Visa Dispute Rules, and the Bank's Terms & Conditions.
  • Undertake various projects and duties as reasonably directed by management.
About You

We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual with a strong understanding of financial crimes, regulatory requirements, and compliance obligations. You will have excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Key requirements include:

  • Working knowledge of ePayments Code, Visa Dispute Rules, and AML/CTF reporting requirements.
  • Working knowledge of Auswide Bank's and general banking legislative requirements.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to understand and use 3rd-party applications.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills, particularly in Excel and Word.
