Financial Crime Analyst

Auswide Bank is seeking a highly skilled Financial Crime Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Support Services Specialists team, you will play a crucial role in managing financial crime cases and ensuring the bank meets its compliance obligations.
Key Responsibilities- Detection and Investigation: Assist in the detection and investigation of unauthorized transactions and mistaken payments, adhering to Auswide Bank's policies and procedures.
- Transaction Monitoring: Investigate unusual activities and report Suspicious Matter Reports to AUSTRAC in accordance with regulatory requirements and bank policies.
- Customer Due Diligence: Conduct ongoing and enhanced customer due diligence activities, including report writing and case escalation as appropriate.
- Quality Checking: Ensure the quality of customer onboarding processes, adhering to Know Your Customer (KYC) obligations.
- First Line Defense: Assist in identifying abnormalities in Auswide Bank's policies, procedures, and products, as well as legislative obligations.
- Dispute Resolution: Manage disputed transactions to conclusion in accordance with the ePayments code, Visa Dispute Rules, and bank policies.
- Documentation and Information Release: Manage the release of documentation and information to enforcement bodies in accordance with bank policies.
- Project Management: Undertake various projects and duties as reasonably directed by management.
We are seeking a candidate with a strong working knowledge of our core banking systems, Auswide Bank's products, and legislative requirements. You will also require excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate processes clearly and logically.
A strong problem-solving mindset and a drive to enhance the organization's capabilities are essential for this role. Additionally, you will have intermediate Microsoft Office skills, particularly in Excel and Word, and the ability to understand and use 3rd-party applications.
