Senior Disaster Risk Manager

This role is pivotal in bolstering the community's ability to withstand emergencies and disasters. As an Emergency Management Coordinator, you will play a crucial part in developing, implementing, and evaluating emergency management plans.
- Lead and coordinate emergency management initiatives to boost community resilience
- Engage with stakeholders to ensure effective disaster preparedness and response strategies
- Promote a culture of safety and collaboration within the organization and community
To excel in this position, you will require:
- A degree in Emergency Management or a related field, coupled with ongoing professional development
- Current Class C Driver's License
- Proven experience in similar roles within government or emergency management agencies
- Strong project management skills, including planning, budgeting, execution, and delivering successful outcomes
- Effective relationship-building and negotiation skills in complex environments
- Ability to provide strategic and operational advice under pressure
- Experience in managing committees and leading multi-disciplinary teams
- In-depth knowledge of NSW emergency management legislation, specifically the State Emergency and Rescue Management Act 1989
- Demonstrated expertise in emergency planning, response coordination, recovery operations, and collaboration
