Job Description

The Policy Analyst position will be part of the Justice Economics and System Reform (JESR) branch, which leads strategic justice system policy and reform relating to courts and key entities across the justice sector. JESR aims to improve the interconnection and operation of the justice system to inform whole-of-justice strategic decision making through policy, process and budget reforms.

The Policy Analyst will contribute to identifying and delivering system level reforms, improving outcomes, performance and access to justice for all users. This will involve monitoring the performance and financial condition of the justice system, drawing on a variety of data, reports, and other resources.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to developing continuous improvement of performance targets, reporting, and data gathering practices.
  • Assist with preparation of policy proposals, project briefs, reports, service plans and recommendations on complex issues.
  • Develop and deliver strategic policy reform and complex projects, or budget, finance and performance reporting.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Strong writing skills with the ability to communicate complex ideas effectively.
  • Experience in policy development, performance monitoring and analysis.
  • A high level of analytical and problem-solving skills.
