Hudson has partnered with a high-profile government department to seek an EL 1 Contracts Manager. The successful candidate will provide specialist procurement and contract advice to senior stakeholders, including policy exemptions, contract variations, renewal and extension strategies.

This is an exciting opportunity for those with a minimum two years of experience in a similar role, based in Canberra and holding a baseline clearance.

Duties:

  • Develop procurement documentation, including contract management plans.
  • Advise on and ensure compliance with government and agency procurement and contract management policies.
  • Use procurement systems to maintain accurate contract records inclusive of contract spend, contractor performance, risk and outcomes.
  • Monitor and report on contract performance against KPIs and requirements, identifying and undertaking corrective action as required.
  • Validate contract milestones, reports, and ensure that payment schedules are met.
  • Assess and prepare contract variations and exemption requests as required, making appropriate decisions based on risk.
  • Prepare for and facilitate straightforward contract negotiations.
  • Interpret contract requirements, terms and conditions and ensure that all parties understand and deliver on their responsibilities.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with suppliers and customers.
  • Liaise with suppliers and customers to resolve routine contractual issues and escalate more complex issues.
  • Review and evaluate expiring contracts and use the results to shape future procurement strategy.
