Program Overview

Curious Minds is an eight-month program designed to foster STEM skills and confidence in young women.

  1. Making a difference in the life of a girl with a curious mind by contributing to her future career as a potential STEM professional.
  2. Developing your own teaching and coaching skills while creating new networks with a group of female STEM professionals.
  3. Inspiring confidence in young women in STEM and having a fun and rewarding experience.

Program Details

  • The program takes place mostly online, with some in-person time required, mainly for attending Summer Camp.
  • You will be matched with a female student based on a compatible STEM area of interest and geographical location.
  • Training and support will be provided throughout the program.

Modules and Responsibilities

  • Attending webinar training and catch-ups with staff and other STEM Coaches.
  • Connecting with your student every three weeks, assisting with STEM exploration and providing guidance into STEM careers.
  • Attending an online wrap-up session during the Winter Camp in July to celebrate the group's achievements.

Qualifications

  • A successful track record of involvement in STEM activities.
  • A desire and capability to work with young people, particularly high school students.
  • A valid Working with Children Check (WWCC), or Working With Vulnerable People (WWVP) registration, or state equivalent.
  • An ability to commit to time requirements.
