Job Summary:

  • This Safety Specialist role is a critical position designed to provide comprehensive health and safety expertise to clients and support internal teams in achieving their objectives.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Review contractor HSEQ documentation and processes, communicating compliance or gaps in relation to regulatory requirements.
  • Research and develop health and safety review protocols as necessitated by legislation, ensuring adherence to established standards.
  • Perform desktop audits of health and safety programs and/or other HSE documentation, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Coordinate various product development and implementation initiatives, focusing on safe and effective outcomes.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert with prospective and existing clients, providing guidance on health and safety best practices.
  • Proactively analyze processes and bring forth ideas for continuous improvement, driving efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Support the organization's Continual Improvement Program to conform to ISO 9001 and ISO 27001 requirements, ensuring seamless integration.
  • Other tasks and projects as directed by management, aligned with strategic objectives.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety or related field from an accredited university, or equivalent work experience, demonstrating expertise in the field.

Key Skills:

  • Understanding of OSHA standards, EPA regulations, related state statutes/regulations, or local ordinances, and ISO/Management Systems standards, ensuring compliance and adherence.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Internet Explorer, utilizing software effectively to enhance productivity.
  • Demonstrated personal initiative and ability to work with minimal supervision, prioritizing tasks and managing time efficiently.
  • Ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously, juggling priorities and meeting deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, conveying complex information clearly and concisely.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and precision in all aspects of the role.
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment, remaining calm under pressure and adapting to changing circumstances.
