Job Opportunity:
Mater Hospital Brisbane is seeking an Operating Theatre Assistant to join its Perioperative team in South Brisbane.
The successful candidate will be a part of the perioperative team delivering consistent, high-quality care to adult and obstetric patients undergoing surgery.

About the Role:
This is a permanent full-time position that supports daily operations, with a 24/7 roster requirement.

Responsibilities:

  • Setting up the theatre for surgery with required equipment
  • Patient positioning and transfers
  • Cleaning contaminated equipment and other used items as required
  • General housekeeping duties such as cleaning beds, organising linen, restocking of equipment, and waste management

Essential Criteria:
• Work as an active team member to support all work tasks
• Strong communication skills
• Commitment to ongoing service excellence
• Ability to prioritise and organise work with minimal supervision
• Available for a 24/7 roster

Desirable Criteria:
• Currently hold a Certificate III in Health Care Support (Operating Theatre Practice) or Certificate III in Health Services Assistance
• Minimum of two years previous experience in an Operating Theatre Assistant role would be highly desirable
