Job Summary

The Forklift Operator/Empty Container Handler is a key role within our Depot operations, responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient loading and unloading of containers from trucks. This position requires a high level of confidence in the use of computers and various programs, as well as excellent communication and comprehension skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Loading and unloading of containers from trucks and ITV's using correct procedures and equipment;
  • Container movements as required;
  • Ensuring all containers are stacked as per current yard requirements;
  • Processing work flows in a timely, efficient and accurate manner;
  • Maintaining accurate and up to date records of transactions as required;
  • Ensuring familiarity with all appropriate government regulations and compliance;
  • Promoting positive relationships with internal and external customers, providers and contractors; and
  • Promoting and following safe work practices at all times.

About You

We are seeking an individual with current High Risk Forklift Licence and experience driving heavy forklifts. Previous experience in the container industry or a similar role is highly regarded. You will also require excellent communication and comprehension skills for communicating with stakeholders, as well as a high level of initiative for identifying and independently acting on problems as they arise.
