Role Overview

The Warehouse Team Leader oversees and leads the daily activities within the Flinders Warehouse and Distribution (FWD) Warehouse, including cargo handling and the coordination of import/export processes. The role ensures efficient operations, maintains high standards of safety and compliance, and day to day allocation and management of warehouse team members.

Key Responsibilities

Operate key plant and liaise with team members on Operational aspects of FWD operations; Responsible for instruction to employees on the job requirements and ensure jobs are completed to an acceptable standard, including training, guiding and supporting new warehouse employees; Coordinate import/export process of bulk, packaged, palletised and high-volume cargo; Commit to ongoing safety improvements. This includes implementation of specific policies and procedures with particular emphasis on training, risk and hazard management and injury prevention; Ensure compliance with WH&S, Quality, Maritime Security and Environmental systems are maintained to the highest standards; and Conduct JSEAs and participating in risk assessments for new work processes with the support of the Operations Supervisor/Manager.

About you

Your skills and experience will include;

Forklift Licence (LF), Reach Stacker (RS) and Licence to perform Dogging (DG); Certificate IV in Warehousing Operations and/or Frontline Management equivalent level of skills and knowledge gained through experience. Experience in the logistics and transport industry; Experience leading and developing teams; Advanced interpersonal and communications skills; Possesses sound working knowledge of distribution facility duties; and Understands quality control standards and takes responsibility for quality of own work.
