Job Title: Project Cost Management Specialist

A key role exists for a skilled professional to join our organization and oversee the financial management of projects, ensuring optimal performance and profitability.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Develop a comprehensive understanding of project specifications, pricing structures, and contractual conditions to inform project offer decisions.
  2. Review and assist in negotiating client/main contractor contract documentation to ensure mutually beneficial agreements.
  3. Support other departments with pre-start planning, programming, and coordination efforts.
  4. Analyze supplier/subcontractor offerings, selecting suitable candidates based on their skill set and capability to deliver projects.
  5. Place orders with suppliers/subcontractors, ensuring order documentation provides necessary information for successful project execution.
  6. Manage commercial relationships with suppliers/subcontractors, processing variation accounts, and payment requests as needed.
  7. Attend external and internal meetings, documenting actions, agreements, and unresolved matters to drive project progress.
  8. Track project progress by monitoring internal and external departmental contributions and identifying areas for improvement.
  9. Maintain company cost control systems, recommending process improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
  10. Identify, communicate, and manage changes to project scope, estimating costs, and resolving issues accordingly.
  11. Analyze and provide feedback on internal reporting systems, site-produced paperwork, and procurement processes to optimize project delivery.
  12. Provide expert advice on commercial and contractual matters to staff members, reviewing and drafting correspondence as required.
  13. Measure, value, submit, and negotiate contract variations with clients and supply chains to ensure fair and timely settlements.
  14. Cultivate strong communication and liaison skills when interacting with clients regarding project commercial matters, ensuring prompt receipt of payments in accordance with agreed contracts.
  15. Prioritize tasks and manage direct reports effectively, fostering a collaborative team environment that achieves project objectives.
