About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Claims Officer to join our Total Loss Claims Team at the Royal Automobile Association (RAA). As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for processing claims within established guidelines, efficiently and professionally, to achieve fair and equitable settlements while providing exceptional member service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver exceptional and professional service to members and internal/external customers by identifying, responding to, and satisfying their needs.
  • Negotiate settlements for claims within appropriate authority limits and procedures.
  • Identify possible fraudulent matters and consult with Management on recommended actions to be taken in accordance with the Insurance Contracts Act and the company fraud policy.
  • Process claims payments and associated administration.
  • Achieve set KPIs and quality targets consistently.

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • Motor or similar claims experience is preferred.
  • Outstanding attention to detail and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • A positive can-do attitude and team ethos.
  • Ability to establish and maintain relationships with a wide variety of key stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of the General Insurance Code of Practice, The Australian Privacy Principles, Dispute resolution process, and legislative requirements arising from the relevant acts.
  • Working knowledge of the Insurance Contracts Act and other relevant applicable Acts.
