About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Claims Officer to join our Total Loss Claims Team at the Royal Automobile Association. As a Claims Officer, you will be responsible for managing end-to-end total loss claims, including the procurement of replacement vehicles and the sale of salvage.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process claims within established guidelines, efficiently and professionally, to achieve fair and equitable settlements.
  • Deliver exceptional service to members and internal/external customers by identifying, responding to, and satisfying their needs.
  • Negotiate settlements for claims within appropriate authority limits and procedures.
  • Identify possible fraudulent matters and consult with Management on recommended actions.
  • Process claims payments and associated administration.
  • Achieve set KPIs and quality targets consistently.
About You

We are looking for a confident and passionate individual who is self-motivated and enjoys working in a high-performing culture. You will be passionate about helping our community and want to make a difference.

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • Motor or similar claims experience.
  • Outstanding attention to detail and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • A positive can-do attitude and team ethos.
  • Ability to establish and maintain relationships with a wide variety of key stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of the General Insurance Code of Practice, The Australian Privacy Principles, Dispute resolution process, and legislative requirements arising from the relevant acts.
  • Working knowledge of the Insurance Contracts Act and other relevant applicable acts.
