About the Role

RPS Group is seeking an experienced Senior Planner to join our Planning team on a permanent full-time basis, based in Cairns. As a Senior Planner, you will be responsible for reviewing the development potential of sites and providing due diligence advice, preparing development applications for a wide variety of development types and locations, and liaising with clients, consultants, and regulatory authorities regarding development and planning issues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Reviewing the development potential of sites and providing due diligence advice;
  • Preparing development applications for a wide variety of development types and locations;
  • Liaising with clients, consultants, and regulatory authorities regarding development and planning issues;
  • Assisting with other allied planning services including: strategic advice, policy review, and allied approvals;
  • Assisting clients to implement approval outcomes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Planning or equivalent planning qualifications as recognised by the Planning Institute of Australia (PIA);
  • Demonstrated minimum of 5 years post-qualified experience (private sector preferred);
  • Demonstrated understanding of the Queensland planning system;
  • High-quality writing abilities;
  • Ability to ensure projects are delivered on time and to a high standard;
  • Strong commitment to client service, team work, and passion to shape planning outcomes.
