We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Asset Accountant to manage financial activities for a diverse portfolio of properties.
Key Responsibilities:- Oversee accounting functions, including financial reporting, budgeting, and variance analysis.
- Prepare accurate and timely property financial statements in accordance with company policies and accounting standards.
- Monitor and process property-related transactions, such as rent receivables, operating expenses, service charge reconciliations, and capital expenditures.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure accurate financial reporting and budgeting for properties.
- Assist in the preparation of financial reports for stakeholders and investors.
- Review lease agreements and ensure accurate rent calculations, operating costs, and other financial terms are reflected correctly in the accounting system.
- Prepare reconciliations of property-related balance sheet accounts, ensuring timely resolution of any discrepancies.
- Support year-end audits and tax filings, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Contribute to the development and improvement of accounting processes and controls to ensure efficiency and accuracy.
- Tertiary qualifications in Accounting or a related field.
- CPA/CA Qualified
- At least 2-3 years of experience in asset accounting, preferably within a real estate or property management environment.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, particularly in relation to property and real estate.
- Proficiency in financial software, with experience in property management systems (Yardi, MRI, or similar).
- Advanced Excel skills for data analysis, reconciliation, and reporting.
- Excellent attention to detail, with strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple priorities.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.
- A proactive, problem-solving attitude with a focus on delivering high-quality results.
