As a key member of our maintenance team, you'll play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our laboratory facilities. This full-time position reports to the Facilities Manager and is ideal for someone with hands-on experience, adaptability, and a willingness to take on diverse general maintenance tasks.

The Role

This Maintenance All Rounder will work closely with the maintenance team to resolve equipment issues, minimize downtime, and maintain high standards of compliance with health, safety, and environmental policies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintenance of routine laboratory equipment
  • General maintenance tasks, including carpentry and joinery, plumbing, tiling, painting, and demolition
  • Liaising with maintenance team members, section supervisors, and Facilities Management to report and resolve equipment issues
  • Providing comprehensive support to ensure the safe and efficient operation of laboratory facilities

Requirements

  • Strong background in Carpentry and/or Joinery
  • Ability to read drawings, build small structures, stud walls, hang doors, etc.
  • Current driver's licence (C class) manual
  • Flexibility to travel between sites in the Perth region using own transport
  • Some mechanical experience beneficial but not essential
  • Knowledge and skills in other trades or desire to learn
  • Flexibility to do occasional overtime on weekends
  • Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision while being committed to working as a team
  • Proven ability to handle a diverse workload
