Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Facilities Manager to oversee the maintenance, safety, and building operations of our sites across Greater Victoria.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership, support, and guidance to our facilities team in all locations.
  • Manage day-to-day operations, including planned and corrective maintenance and custodial services delivered to our portfolio of owned or managed properties.
  • Oversight of suite turnovers, maintenance/inventory levels of cleaning supplies, and implementation of systems that improve efficiency and effectiveness in maintenance and custodial service delivery.
  • Ensure health and safety procedures are in place and followed by staff; potential health and safety risks are identified, reported, and addressed with support from relevant departments.
  • Maintenance, Custodial, Administration, and Service Delivery: oversee custodial services for all sites, ensure high standard of cleanliness and safety are adhered to, and work collaboratively with the Director of Facilities to develop annual operational plans.

The ideal candidate will have a degree or diploma in Facilities Management, maintenance, or related field or equivalence in knowledge and experience. They will also have minimum 3 years of experience in a related management role, preferably within a unionized environment, and strong knowledge of general maintenance procedures, plumbing, carpentry practical theory, HVAC, and electrical systems.
